Who we are?

At Alternative Movement, the focus is on helping adaptive athletes reach their potential by building on what they can do, rather than what they can’t. Every athlete is unique, and when a movement needs to be adapted, the aim is always to maintain the intent and training stimulus through alternative methods.

Our work goes beyond just supporting athletes. We also support coaches and gym owners who want to create more inclusive environments. Through education, practical guidance, and shared experience, we help fitness professionals feel confident in working with disabled individuals and integrating adaptive training into their spaces.

Adaptive training is centred around constantly varied functional movement patterns performed with appropriate intensity, often delivered in ways that differ from traditional approaches, while still driving progress and development.

​

This is not exclusive to high-performance individuals. Everyone we work with is considered an adaptive athlete. Whether someone is completely new to training or competing at an elite level, there is a place for them within this community.

We believe inclusive fitness should be accessible not just to athletes, but to the coaches and facilities delivering it.
